Beets are excellent for liver health; high in non-heme iron.

Beets are great for cleansing the liver and gall bladder and for purifying the blood. In his book Foods that Heal (Avery, 2002) the late pioneer nutritionist and natural health expert Dr. Bernard Jensen, says beets are high in vitamin A, and benefit not only the systems of elimination, but also the digestive and lymphatic systems.
